Oz the great and powerful

OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL

I went to see Oz the great and powerful last night in 3 D. Good film....for a 10 year old, that is! Disney of course, what do you expect?! Lots of cute creatures, sweet things and amazing visuals. Great film for kids. It's the story of how OZ the fake wizard came to Emerald City and became King. I must say the story was really good, I enjoyed it.
There were some really cool scenes like when Oz got sucked into a tornado while he was flying in a hot hair balloon and a wonderful scene when the main characters were flying inside a bubble.
It made my inner child come out and for a couple of minutes I really wished I could fly inside a bubble myself! Honestly, how cool would that be?!

Bubble ride anyone? Yes please!!

Cute elements in the films were:

THE RIVER FAIRIES

Small, tiny, vicious flying creatures with sharp pointy teeth who seem distant baby relatives of the "Monster of the swamp" yet so extremely cute to get the whole cinema say: awwwwwww!

THE FLYING MONKEY AND THE CHINA GIRL

A cute, sweet and  servile flying monkey dressed in a baggage handler outfit (come on how can you not just adore it at first sight!) and a living china doll with the voice of an angel  and broken legs, who lost her family when the evil witch destroyed her entire village...
Disney trying to kill us with sweetness or what?

PEOPLE OF EMERALD CITY

Not to mention the sweetness of the people of Emerald City, so sweet, innocent and good hearted you get diabetes only looking at them...

Hey but what is with the village women PRETZEL hairstyle?? They were so cute you just wanted to give them a bite!

The only thing that irritated me though was the usual standard...which just like in Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters and tons of other movies shows the "good" characters with blonde hair and fair skin, while the baddies always have dark hair and eyes.
I mean why do we always associate this white supremacy stereotype as the image of GOOD?
You see this and you automatically assume she is THE GOOD WITCH, isn't that so?

The good witch

While the two evil witches in the film of course had dark hair...uhmmm it is about time we destroy this myth!

Evil witches always have black hair...why is that?
